
Congenital heart disease is commonly due to infection of a pregnant mother from German Measles for the 1st three months of pregnancy where fetus at that time is developing the body organs. Other causes are from medications or drugs and X-Ray. X-ray emits radiation and the developing fetus is very sensitive to such radiation.
Signs for the new born child:
1. Poor sucking during breastfeeding
2. Difficulty in breathing
3. Bluish discoloration of the skin
4. Fatigue
5. Stunted growth
6. Often have cough and colds
Prevention:
Prevention should start if the patient suspects that she is pregnant. At this period, fetus is developing and and sensitive. Pregnant mother should be healthy, eats healthy food, drinks plenty of fluids and have a an adequate sleep and rest. A mother should avoid contact with a person who have German Measles, avoid drinking of drugs and avoid x-ray if it is not needed.
A pregnant mother should immediately consult to doctors if one of the following prevention is not followed.
Complication of the child after birth:
1. Stunted growth
2. Pneumonia
3. Heart Disease

Atherosclerosis is a condition in which the artery is filled with fat deposits. Fat deposits impedes in blood circulation in the body system. This condition progresses slowly until blood circulation cannto pass through the artery affected.
Arteries in the heart and brain are major site for this condition. If it is in the heart it is called Atherosclerotic heart disease.
Signs:
1. Chest Pain ( angina pectoris)--pain is relieve after some rest
Prevention:
1. Lifestyle modification. Avoid smoking, eating fatty foods and have regular exercise.
2. Patient with atherosclerotic heart disease should consult a physician for further assessment and medication.
Complications:
1. Heart attack (myocardial infarction)-- It is not relieve by rest. Excruciating chest pain and it life threatening.
2. Congestive heart failure-- Blood is filled excessively in the heart and lungs.
High blood pressure is a common condition among the elderly but it may also affect among young people. Blood pressure is measured through a stethoscope and a sphygmonanometer. When having the daily activities, normally blood pressure rise so it is important that a 10minutes rest should be done before taking a blood pressure. If blood pressure level is above 140/90 in three succeeding measurement in a week it is said that a patient is having a high blood pressure.
Common Symptoms:
1. Headache and pain on the nape
2. Nausea
3. Sudden weakness
4. Blurring of vision
Prevention and Treatment
Eating, exercise, lifestyle and stress are some of the predisposing factor that trigger high blood.
Eating healthy foods like, vegetables and fruits, low in sodium, oil and fats lessens the deposit of plaques and hardening of the arteries.
Exercise burns up the excess fats in the artery.
Having a calm behavior may lessen the risk of high blood pressure.
For early prevention and detection, a person should consult a physician so that complication will be avoided. Complications of this condition are life threatening like stroke, heart attack and some people experienced paralyze in some parts of the their body. Regular and follow up check up should be followed.
It is said that prevention is better than cure. Complication of this condition is not reversible, so one's health must be taken care always.
